Arts and crafts are a major part of our family life! We love to decorate everything, the walls, the floor, our clothing, food, and ourselves. We have used pipe cleaners to make several different crafts over time, but I decided it would be a grand idea to try them as rollers for my hair.

Last year, my 6 year old daughter decided that she wanted her hair to be like mine. She wanted locks. I had thought about it a lot but didn’t want to “impose” that upon her-all the commitment and such, but she was a willing participant and therefore I decided on the best method to begin her locking journey.

In this economy, we have to learn to do for ourselves. We may be gainfully employed one day and in line at the unemployment office tomorrow. When I lived in New Orleans, I was introduced to so many new tastes…from Po Boys to Jambalaya to Beignets to Pralines. I acquired a taste for a few items, and just admired the preparation and aromas of other foods. I took the greatest liking to jambalaya, beignets, and pralines, but I admit, I do like Popeye’s Chicken and eating in at other native, NOLA restaurants.
